The lobby area of The Cumberland Hotel has been transformed this week as it hosts the Urban Contemporary Art Exhibition.
Works from legendary urban and graffiti artists such as Banksy, Blek Le Rat, D*Face and Charming Baker are all on display and what’s more on the 10th October all the pieces go under the hammer. The auction will consist of 8 works by Banksy, one of which will be ‘Mosquito’ and it is estimated to fetch somewhere in the regin of a whopping of £30,000 – £50,000. Works by Eine, Blek Le Rat and D*Face will also be in the auction.
To raise awareness of the Urban Contemporary Art Exhibition a unique Banksy truck installation fully stencilled by Banksy will be parked behind The Cumberland Hotel tomorrow (Thursday 6th October) on Old Quebec Street from 8am-2pm.
